As a result of the consistent growth in quality and quantity of student life programs and initiatives, the Center for Student Engagement (CSE) and Student Government Association (SGA) have identified the need for support in the area of club maintenance, leadership, oversight, and the logistics of program event planning and evaluation. An Umbrella Organization Leader is a student that has been elected and or appointed for organiztions that have been identified as part of their groupin. Each Umbrella Leader is responsible to provide greater support for the many students actively involved in clubs and organizations. The leader will serve as liaisons between student leaders, the student body, SGA, and the CSE. As student leaders with enhanced training, mentorship, and experience they are available to assist students with various needs that may arise and are integral in connecting students with various resources at Iona. In addition to mentoring specific clubs and organizations, each leader will be supervised by a staff member and given special areas of responsibility within the CSE that will include separate duties and assignments. Please note: Students already serving as E-Board members on Governing Boards may not serve in this role. Must be a full-time enrolled, undergraduate student and must have a 2.75 GPA Interest in programming and/or prior programming experience Interest in serving in a peer mentor role Dedicated, reliable Openness to learn new things
Academic and Disciplinary Good Standing Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills, and the ability to work with and support college-aged students and outside agencies Working knowledge of computer systems is essential General sense of the workings and mission of the college and CSE Strongly recommended but not required:
