Job Description

We are seeking highly organized candidates with outstanding academic achievements for the role of LEXICON Ambassador (LA) in the LEXICON Center of Excellence. The selected candidates will be supporting the work of the LEXICON Center of Excellence (LCE) Senior Director, Principal Investigator (PI), and Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI).

The LA is responsible for understanding the expectations of their weekly workload, which is 10 hours, during their appointments. This includes assigned work, the time frame for completion, essential duties and responsibilities, work conditions, and more.

Responsibilities include:

LA will work 10 hours per week over the 15-week semester.

This position requires the strictest confidentiality in handling personal information about students who come to LEXICON Ambassadors  in the ordinary execution of their duties and responsibilities or in work assigned to an LA by the LCE Senior Director, LCE Principal Investigator (PI), and/or Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI).

Assist LCE Senior Director, PI, and/or Co-PI with LEXICON Center of Excellence recruitment, admissions, and focused activities including but not limited to attending open house and overseeing information tables.

Assisting LCE Senior Director, PI, and/or Co-PI with development of a new series of "Drop in Community Conversations" informal information sessions.

Perform other reasonable duties as needed/assigned.

An interview will be required for selected candidates.

Job Requirements

Must be registered in an education graduate degree program (MST or MSED)

Must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits during the semester of PA work

Must have a strong academic record, with a minimum GPA of 3.5 to 4.0

Should have experience in leadership positions

Must possess excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal

Should have outstanding organizational skills and exceptional interpersonal abilities

Requires strong computer literacy, including comfort with using Blackboard
